Day out for families with young children
Here's an idea for a day out specially designed for a family with young children, around the Serrette campsite in Chambon-sur-Lac (Puy-de-Dôme). The aim is to combine accessible hiking, fun discoveries and relaxation, taking into account the tiredness of young children and their interests.
Morning: Discovery and easy walking

1. Queureuilh and Rossignolet waterfalls walk
- Course Easy loop of around 3 km (1h30-2h), ideal for children. The path is shaded and dotted with spectacular waterfalls, making it a magical and motivating walk for the little ones.
- Starting point Car park at the landscaped cemetery in Mont-dore (15 min drive from the campsite).
- Council Bring walking shoes, a snack and a notebook to draw the waterfalls!
2. Fun break: Sylvatorium du Capucin
- Activity A sensory trail through the forest, with workshops to discover the local flora and fauna. Children love the huts, observation games and puzzles.
- Duration 1h to 1h30.
- Access 10-minute drive from the waterfalls.

Lunchtime : Lunch break and relaxation
- Picnic Take a basket with local specialities (cheeses, charcuterie, farmhouse bread) to enjoy in a shady park.
