Places to visit in Auvergne

Rural heritage

In the communes of the Sancy you will find :
Many bread ovens are in operation during summer events, as well as washhouses, fountains and a multitude of crosses.

At Saint nectaire

A beautiful hike will take you past dolmens and menhirs to the caves of Châteauneuf.

religious buildings

Each church in all the communes of the Sancy has its own particularity:
Like that of Chambon, a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. But the 12th-century church at St Nectaire (one of the 5 major churches in Auvergne) is well worth a visit.

The architecture

The medieval town of Besse, the neo-Byzantine thermal baths of Le Mont Dore, the small mountain village of Murat-le-Quaire, and St Nectaire and Murol are just some of the places to visit to discover the region and its history.
