Morning: Medieval immersion at Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9am-12.30pm:<\/strong> Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise summer market Every Monday in July and August, the medieval town comes alive with a large craft and gourmet market. Discover stalls selling local produce (cheeses, charcuterie, honeys, wines), arts and crafts (pottery, jewellery, textiles), and street entertainment (musicians, fire-eaters, children's workshops).

- Not to be missed:<\/strong> A self-guided tour of the medieval town, with its cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and Romanesque church. Guided tours (at an additional cost) are often offered in summer to delve deeper into the town's history.
- Advice : <\/strong>Try the Auvergne specialities on site (truffade, aligot, potato p\u00e2t\u00e9s) or buy a picnic lunch for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch: Gourmet break on site<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.30pm-2pm :<\/strong> Meals at the market or in a typical restaurant There are several options available to you:
- Eating at the market: There are plenty of stalls serving hot food, sandwiches, ice creams and waffles.
- Restaurant: take a seat on the terrace of one of the caf\u00e9s or restaurants in the centre (e.g. \u00abLe Bistrot de Besse\u00bb, \u00abLa Table des Marchands\u00bb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afternoon: Family hike to Lac Pavin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. :<\/strong> Discover Lake Pavin (15 min drive from Besse)
- Hiking: An easy, accessible loop (1-hour walk, 3 km) around this crater lake with its deep, mysterious waters. The trail is well laid out, shaded in places, and offers spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On-site activities :
<\/strong>- Observation of the flora and fauna (explanatory panels).
- You can sit on the banks for a snack or a contemplative break.
- Caption: Tell the children the story of the lake, formed by the explosion of a volcano, and its mysteries!
- Tip: Bring warm clothing (even in summer, the altitude makes the air cool) and walking shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evening : Return to the campsite and relax
<\/strong>- 17:30: Return to the Serrette campsite (20 min by car from Lac Pavin).
- 6pm-7.30pm: Swimming in the campsite's heated pool or family games (p\u00e9tanque, playground).
- 8pm: Light supper at the campsite snack bar or on the terrace, overlooking Lac Chambon.
- 9pm: Starlit evening or board games, in the peace and quiet of the mountains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Possible variations
<\/strong>- If the hike is too short, you can extend it with a visit to Puy de Montchal (departure from Lac Pavin, 2 hours round trip).
- On rainy days, replace the hike with a visit to the Mus\u00e9e de la Toinelle in Besse (local history and crafts).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
